Electronic Signature & Records Consent
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Always Encrypted engagements — clearance requests, assessments, subscriptions, recording-consent acknowledgments and related disclosures — are executed electronically. This consent records your agreement to electronic contracting under the laws of the jurisdictions in which we operate, including the U.S. ESIGN Act and state UETA enactments, the EU eIDAS Regulation, and their international counterparts.
1. Consent to electronic transactions
By creating an account, joining the waitlist, executing an assessment or subscription, or signing any document with us electronically, you consent to (a) conducting the transaction by electronic means, (b) receiving all records, disclosures, notices and invoices in electronic form, and (c) the use of electronic signatures, which you agree carry the same legal effect as handwritten signatures.
2. United States coverage
This consent satisfies the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN, 15 U.S.C. §7001 et seq.) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act as enacted by the states, including California, Illinois and New York. It covers consumer-consent requirements of ESIGN §7001(c) to the extent any consumer provision could apply to our business-to-business services.
3. European Union & United Kingdom
Within the EU, electronic signatures and records are recognized under the eIDAS Regulation (EU No 910/2014); in the UK, under the retained eIDAS framework and the Electronic Communications Act 2000. Where an engagement requires an advanced or qualified electronic signature, we will procure one through a qualified trust service provider at no surprise to you — the requirement and any cost are stated in advance.
4. Other jurisdictions
Electronic execution is further recognized under Canada's PIPEDA Part 2 and provincial equivalents, Australia's Electronic Transactions Acts, Singapore's Electronic Transactions Act, Japan's Act on Electronic Signatures, the UAE's electronic transactions laws, and the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Signatures as adopted elsewhere. Where local law excludes a document type from electronic execution (for example certain notarial or land instruments), we will present that document in the required form.
5. Scope
This consent covers all current and future transactions, agreements, consents, disclosures, notices and invoices between you and Start My Business Incorporated relating to Always Encrypted services, unless you withdraw it as described below.
6. Hardware & software requirements
To receive and retain electronic records you need: a device with internet access; a current web browser; and the ability to view and store PDF or HTML documents. No printer, special software or paid account is required.
7. Paper copies
You may request a paper copy of any electronically executed record at any time via [email protected]; copies are provided free of charge.
8. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw consent to electronic transactions at any time by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawal does not affect the validity of records already executed, but may end access to services delivered exclusively in electronic form. We will confirm withdrawal and its effective date.
9. Updating your delivery channel
Because accounts are anonymous by design (username and password only), your in-account communication channel is our route to you. You are responsible for keeping that channel active or providing an updated delivery preference through it.
10. Retention
Electronic records of executed documents are retained for the life of the engagement plus any statutory retention period, and are available to you on request throughout that time.
